The Energy Centre

Creating energy from waste to power homes and business.

How it works

Household waste is tipped into one of five Bunkers on arrival. From there, our Cranes deliver it to the Boilers where it is incinerated, and the heat generates superheated steam.

The steam drives the Turbines, which generate electricity. This electricity (85%) is exported to the National Grid to power approximately 80,000 homes every year businesses and to provide electricity to a local Data Centre, via a private wire connection.

The remaining 15% of electricity powers operations at the EcoPark.

To reuse, recycle and create energy from waste for our communities.
